Works of Juan de Villanueva – Laguna del Rey |
Juan de Villanueva, a Spanish architect from XVIII century was responsible among many other neoclassical works of what the Prado Museum is nowadays. His print can be found in the surroundings of this Nature Reserve. During the reign of Charles III he was assigned first the works to channel the High Guadiana and later, the building of the Royal factory of Gunpowder at the village of Ruidera. Those were the times of Enlightenment, of “great ideas” that time erased even though we can still recognize certain pieces pertaining to the period of Rivera’s greater success. |
